Bluewater Yachts built a reputation through the 1970s and 1980s for serious, no nonsense motor yachts. The Bluewater 54 is a substantial flybridge motor yacht built for long range comfort and genuine liveaboard capability. A 14 foot beam and deep displacement hull give her a stable, sea kindly ride while delivering interior volume that rivals boats considerably longer. The layout runs a full beam salon with wraparound windows and an integrated lower helm station, a granite galley down forward, and three private cabins with two full heads below. Above, the aft deck sits under a full fiberglass hardtop with molded stairs port and starboard to a flybridge that carries the main helm, a pedestal captain’s chair, and L shaped guest seating along both sides. Welcome aboard this 1988 Bluewater 54 that has been set up by an owner who clearly uses her. Step through the transom door onto a covered aft deck that functions as the real living room of this boat, a teak table with six teak folding chairs under a full fiberglass hardtop, molded stairs on both sides up to the bridge, and an extended swim platform behind. The flybridge is fully enclosed in camper canvas with wraparound clear vinyl, a single pedestal captain’s chair at the helm, and L shaped guest seating running down both sides. The upper helm carries a Furuno display, a backup camera monitor, compass, full engine instrumentation, digital depth and speed and temperature, VHF with hailer, and the thruster joystick right at hand. Inside, the full beam salon is finished with a light gray leather wraparound sectional, wood paneling and trim, granite topped console, flat screen television, and a lower helm station forward to starboard for all weather running. That lower helm is the story of this boat. Twin tachometers, temperature, oil pressure, volts, fuel, rudder angle indicator and an engine hour meter, three FIREBOY fire suppression monitors, a Westerbeke generator start panel with its own hour meter, a remote control panel for the searchlight, bow and stern thruster joysticks, and a full AC and DC distribution panel with digital DC volts, AC volts and AC amp metering, dual shore power mains, and dedicated breakers for air conditioning, water heater, searchlight, macerator and bilge pumps. Down forward the galley runs granite counters, a full size stainless refrigerator and freezer, range with oven, microwave, glass front upper cabinets and wood plank flooring. Three cabins sleep six, the master with a walkaround berth, cherry cabinetry, hanging lockers, television and its own head. Both heads are full, each with a separate shower, and the master head carries a full tub. Bottom paint was done fresh in 2026. Boats this size with this much covered outdoor living, real thruster control at both stations, and a genuine three cabin two head layout are hard to find anywhere near this number.
