This 2005 Sea Ray 340 Sundancer Sportsman offers a combination rarely found in an express cruiser: comfortable overnight accommodations, strong inboard performance, and a cockpit designed to support serious fishing.

The Sportsman configuration is the defining feature of this boat. Instead of the conventional Sundancer aft seating arrangement, the cockpit has dual transom walk-throughs, a large central insulated fish box or storage compartment, a folding aft bench seat, built-in rod storage, multiple rod holders, cockpit washdown, sink, preparation areas, and open working space when the bench is folded away. It remains comfortable for cruising and entertaining while being considerably more practical for fishing than the standard 340 Sundancer layout.

Power is supplied by twin freshwater-cooled MerCruiser MIE 8.1S Horizon gasoline inboards rated at 370 HP each. Power is transferred through ZF V-drive transmissions for a combined 740 HP. The Mercury SmartCraft display shows approximately 799 total hours on each engine as of July 15, 2026.

Both engines have received substantial mechanical work. The starboard engine was rebuilt in September 2018 and has approximately 438 hours since the rebuild. The port engine received a replacement long block and extensive internal work in February 2022 and has approximately 277 hours since that work. Additional maintenance includes fuel-system repairs, raw-water-pump replacement, regular servicing, winterization, and cooling-system maintenance. Detailed service records, receipts, and maintenance documentation are reported to be available.

A Vetus bow thruster provides additional control around docks and in confined marinas. The helm is equipped with a Raymarine HybridTouch multifunction display with chartplotter, fishfinder and radar functions, Raymarine autopilot, Mercury SmartCraft vessel monitoring, Uniden VHF radio, Guest remote spotlight control, trim tabs, and complete analog engine instrumentation.

Onboard electrical power is provided by a 2020 Next Gen 5.5 kW diesel generator showing approximately 91.7 hours. The installation includes a separate aluminum diesel fuel tank, allowing the generator to operate independently from the boat’s gasoline engine-fuel system.

The cabin has a clean, open layout finished with high-gloss cherry cabinetry and light-coloured upholstery. A large forward berth provides the primary sleeping area, while the curved salon settee and aft lounge provide additional seating and convertible accommodations. The galley includes a two-burner electric cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, sink, solid-surface countertop, and substantial cabinet and drawer storage.

The enclosed fiberglass wet head includes a SeaLand marine toilet, sink, shower fixture, mirror, portlight, storage, and a recently replaced macerator. Reverse-cycle heating and air conditioning support comfortable use throughout the cruising season.

A Suzumar MX320 RAB inflatable tender purchased in 2024 is carried on a custom davit system over the integrated swim platform. The tender is powered by a 9.9 HP Mariner four-stroke outboard. The tender, outboard, davit system, two Scotty downriggers, rod holders, barbecue, fenders, dock lines, and listed onboard equipment are included in the sale.

This is a practical West Coast cruiser for buyers who want the accommodations of a Sundancer without giving up a functional fishing cockpit.
