LOCATION: Seattle Washington

A distinctive Pacific Northwest-built custom yacht combining shallow draft, serious diesel power, expansive accommodations, and timeless motor-yacht styling.

This 1990 Heisley Custom 70 is a rare American-built luxury motor yacht offering an unusual combination of substantial interior volume, remarkably shallow draft, and performance-oriented construction.

Built by Heisley Marine of Portland, Oregon, this 70-footer comes from a builder known for producing large custom composite yachts. Heisley Marine’s 70-foot tooling produced cored hulls designed for high-speed operation.

At 71 feet LOA with a 17 beam, ZEPHYR provides the space expected of a considerably larger cruising yacht while drawing only approximately 3’3”. Her propulsion arrangement features twin M.A.N. diesels coupled to Arneson surface drives, giving this yacht a particularly unusual combination of performance and shallow-water capability. With 1,050 gallons of diesel capacity and approximately 315 gallons of fresh water, she has the range to allow worry-free cruising throughout the PNW.

Inside, ZEPHYR offers three private staterooms and three heads, accommodating six overnight guests. Two queen staterooms feature ensuite heads, while a separate bunk cabin is served by the third head. The expansive salon and well-equipped galley-up arrangement create an exceptionally comfortable environment for extended cruising, entertaining or full-time living aboard.

The yacht has been upgraded with upscale residential-style appointments including leather furnishings, stone countertops, stainless-steel appliances, washer/dryer and an unusually comprehensive galley.

Inside, she feels more like a waterfront residence than a weekend cruiser. The expansive salon, well-equipped galley, generous accommodations, abundant storage and thoughtful details—including a power-actuated retractable TV lift—make her particularly appealing for extended cruising, entertaining or living aboard.

And unlike a modern production yacht built to a standard formula, this is a custom-built yacht with real presence. Her long foredeck, low-profile superstructure and distinctive lines still turn heads three decades after she was launched.

EURO STYLE - DIESEL - 600HP – FLYBRIDGE – TURBOCHARGED - EXTENDED SWIM PLATFORM – RIB TENDER AND 20HP OUTBOARD - EXCELLENT LAYOUT – HYDRAULIC BOW THRUSTER – DINETTE SEATING FOR 10-12 – WATER MAKER – VIKING APPLIANCES - COMFORTABLE CABINS - FULL HEAT – A/C – THREE STATEROOMS – THREE HEADS – FULL GALLEY – SIMRAD ELECTRONICS

Why this yacht? Because very few yachts combine 70-foot accommodations, 17 feet of beam, three-stateroom comfort, M.A.N. diesel power, surface-drive performance and exceptionally shallow draft in one package. For the buyer looking for space, individuality and capability rather than another cookie-cutter motor yacht, this Heisley deserves serious consideration.
